Therapeutic Visitation Specialist Job Opportunity

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark, a leading social service agency in New Jersey, is seeking a skilled Therapeutic Visitation Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on families and children in need.

About the Role

This Per Diem position requires the ideal candidate to provide therapeutic visitation services to families in their homes or communities who require intervention. The specialist will conduct initial assessments, develop visitation plans, document visits, facilitate meetings, and communicate with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with families in a culturally sensitive manner.
  • Schedule and conduct visits in a safe and non-traumatizing environment.
  • Ensure the safety of children during visits.
  • Use strengths-based strategies to elicit family input.
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts and visits.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children and families, particularly those involved with the welfare system and/or affected by trauma.
  • Valid NJ Driver's License.
  • Valid LPC, LAC, LSW, or CSW license.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $41,210 per year, based on industry standards and location. Work Environment

This position requires flexibility, as some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks accordingly.
