Job Summary

This Senior Accountant position is a key role within the Finance & Administration division at St. Catherine University, focusing on managing financial post-award processes for grants and gifts. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, oversee timely and accurate drawdowns of funds, and prepare both internal and external financial reports. In addition to budget projections across various endowed and non-endowed accounts, this position plays a crucial role in managing the University's investment accounts, including the endowment.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all financial post-award processes for grants, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, audit standards, and preparing required reports.
  • Perform accounting tasks for the University's investment accounts, including the endowment activity, allocating earnings according to the endowment spending policy, and providing budget projections as needed.
  • Complete restricted fund accounting processes, adhering to gift instruments, ensuring accurate and timely entries, and preparing necessary reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in accounting, grant management, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of University policies, programs, personalities, and practices, as well as sponsoring agencies.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations and guidelines, including compliance areas (Uniform Grant Guidance, etc.).
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse individuals in multiple disciplines.
  • Experience working with MS Excel and complex information systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and collaborate as a team member.
