Job Title: Mascot Performer

Job Summary:

The AEG organization is seeking a part-time Mascot Performer for game days, events, and public appearances in Sarasota, Florida. This is a year-round position who will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:
  • Represent and promote the Baltimore Orioles brand at Orioles home spring training games and public appearances.
  • Be responsible and accountable to appearance schedules; arrive on time and remain for the duration of games, events, and public appearances.
  • Exhibit strong non-verbal communication skills while in costume.
  • Demonstrate an outgoing performance personality with the ability to interact with fans.
  • Foster a fun, safe, and professional atmosphere at Orioles home games, events, and public appearances.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in and out of costume.
  • Care for mascot costume and props.
  • Perform various event-related responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; 4-year college degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience as a mascot performer.
  • Must be able to work at all of Orioles home spring training games, including nights and weekends.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work long hours.
  • Ability to work weekday business hours if possible.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Height of 5' 6" to 6' 2" in order to fit into costume.
  • An energetic, positive, and enthusiastic personality.
  • Athletic and physically fit enough to wear the costume and perform for the duration of games and in extreme heat.
  • Outgoing and ready to handle anything presented.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, think creatively, and problem solve.
  • Must be a team-first player who works well with others.
  • Punctual and professional.
