About Us

Southern Manufacturing Technologies is a leading provider of precision machined components and assemblies for the aerospace, defense, and aircraft industries.

We have 21 CNC machines, including 6 horizontal mills, 1 high-speed vertical mill, and 10 lathes with live tooling capabilities. Our state-of-the-art facilities allow us to offer complex internal and external deburring, finishing under 10-40x magnification, and precision surface treatment applications.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Precision Machining Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines, inspecting parts, and documenting quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including horizontal mills and lathes.
  • Inspect parts for quality and accuracy.
  • Document quality results and maintain records.
  • Ensure cycle times are adhered to and optimize production processes.
  • Prove out, debug, and provide feedback on CNC programs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in precision machining, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and math skills.
  • Degree or certification from a technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
