Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathology Specialist to join our team. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, you will assess and treat patients with speech, language, and related disorders. Your expertise will help improve the communicative ability of patients with physio-genic, neurogenic, or psychogenic speech and language disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify patients with speech, language, and related disorders and determine their etiology, history, and severity through interviewing and testing techniques.
  • Assess, evaluate, analyze, and treat communicative problems resulting from speech, language, and related disorders and the diseases or traumas that caused them.
  • Investigate and study the underlying causes, precipitating factors, symptomatic behavior, and emotional effects as well as the functional impact of speech and language disorders on patients.
  • Plan programs designed to restore or improve the communicative ability of patients with speech and language disorders to produce, improve, or restore appropriate communication skills.
  • Treat speech, language, and related disorders such as aphasia, dysarthria, phonological defect, language delay, stuttering, and voice disorders, including laryngectomy, disorders affecting the geriatric population, and those secondary to traumatic injury.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with more complex speech, language, and related disorders, set treatment goals, observe and document progress, and make adjustments to therapy programs.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must possess a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited college or university, including three-hundred hours of supervised clinical experience in speech pathology, and a New York State license in Speech Pathology. One year of full-time, paid professional experience beyond licensure in the practice of speech pathology in a hospital, healthcare, rehabilitative, or related setting is also required.

Estimated Salary:

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience.
