Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and administration of the process engineering, technical, maintenance, and tooling functions of our Clyde plant operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, providing, and maintaining the process engineering and technical disciplines required to ensure robust manufacturing processes are achieved to meet the plant's productivity, delivery, quality, and safety objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and administration of the process engineering, technical, maintenance, and tooling functions.
  • Establish and maintain process engineering and technical disciplines to ensure robust manufacturing processes.
  • Manage the efficient and cost-effective repair and maintenance of all related plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.
  • Build, grow, and drive teams of technical managers, maintenance managers, process engineers, and tooling supervisors to deliver on strategic goals.
  • Oversee all process engineering, technical, maintenance, and tooling personnel.
  • Develop and maintain departmental standards, methods, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Implement and maintain an effective predictive and preventative maintenance program on all related plant assets.
  • Ensure departmental discipline in all required procedures and maintain all molding and assembly process documentation.
  • Direct the completion of accurate documentation associated with all maintenance procedures.
  • Oversee the departmental organizational structure by assigning responsibilities and delegating authority.
  • Monitor and analyze molding and assembly process performance for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor plant equipment to improve asset utilization and develop improvement plans to continuously improve utilization indices.
  • Collaborate with departments to solve quality problems involving molding, tooling, and equipment, and drive improvement and process changes that improve cost and efficiency.
  • Develop and validate new production processes and upgrade existing production processes.
  • Initiate business cases for new capital equipment or more cost-effective processing methods.
  • Collaborate with Plant Leadership Team to identify strategic objectives and goals for future manufacturing processes and/or operations.
  • Manage process evaluations, troubleshooting, and establish process engineering protocols.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing in the launch of new programs.
  • Oversee specifications for new or improved equipment and participate in equipment design in coordination with designers, vendors, and other engineering groups.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure total compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with Leadership on RPS strategic plan by meeting daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI metrics.
  • Oversee departmental PGO to understand the needs of your development and the development of the maintenance, process, and tooling departments.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of management and plant operations experience, 10+ years of experience is preferred.
  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of injection molding and heavy industrial tooling preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic competencies.
  • Working knowledge of plant material feed systems and robots.
  • Strong functional knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance procedures and practices.
  • Strong leadership and team player skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and expertise in molding machines, materials, equipment, and processes.
  • Strong computer skills and math skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple departments and projects.
  • Ability to work under significant deadlines.

Salary Information
