Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lead Cook to join our team at the Miami County Jail in Peru, IN.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and the ability to work well in a structured correctional environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and instructing meal preparations, including food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.
  • Ability to read and follow company recipes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts - days and hours (between 9:00am - 6:00pm).
  • Clearance approval into the facility.

We offer a competitive wage and benefit package, including a $250 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment.

Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus, but we can train the right person.
