We are seeking a highly skilled Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician to join our dynamic team at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI.

About the Role

This full-time position involves providing exceptional patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with an RN to set up dialysis machines, cannulate, start, monitor, and end dialysis sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care according to established standards and practices
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care
  • Implement emergency, fire, and disaster protocols as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and reports using occurrence reporting systems
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Tech (CCHT) certification or obtain within 18 months of hire
  • Current BLS certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles of aseptic techniques
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are beneficial but not required:

  • Completion of a nursing assistant course
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Health Unit Coordinators
  • One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting
