Job Description:

Ivywood Academy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pre-School Educational Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of young children and support their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching Assistance: Provide academic support to the lead teacher, assisting with lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Childcare Support: Assist with childcare duties, including supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of children's progress, including attendance, behavior, and academic achievements.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding children's progress, activities, and any concerns that may arise.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an associate degree or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting.
  • Experience with Montessori Schools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with young children.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry children and classroom materials.
  • Stamina and physical agility to actively engage with children throughout the day.

Working Conditions:

  • Typically works indoors in a classroom setting.
  • May require occasional outdoor activities or field trips.

Salary: $42,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience.
