Join Our Team as a Family Planning Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Planning Specialist to join our team at Planned Parenthood. In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to patients while promoting reproductive health and well-being.

About the Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you can make a real difference in people's lives. As a Family Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, including:

  • Providing accurate and complete information to clients concerning family planning methods and basic reproductive services offered by Planned Parenthood.
  • Educating patients on medication and surgical abortion procedures.
  • Conducting interviews with patients to understand their medical histories and assisting them in completing necessary forms.
  • Assisting patients in understanding and completing medical records and other required paperwork.
  • Preparing and stocking exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as a fundamental member of the health center operations and clinical support team.
  • Successfully completing assigned support tasks under supervision of center management and licensed clinical staff.
  • Providing essential assistance to maximize center flow, patient satisfaction, safety of PPHP's services, and internal customer service.
  • Handling front desk functions, receiving and making phone calls, handling mail and deliveries, and observing and reporting back to center management.
  • Maintaining electronic and medical chart functions, filing, scanning, purging, and archiving.
  • Demonstrating flexibility and teamwork, participating in quality assurance procedures, and contributing to meeting fiscal goals.
  • Completing other duties as assigned and performing options counseling.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of an accredited high school program or equivalent required; further education, training, and/or certification preferred.
  • Previous professional experience with the provision of family planning services preferred.
  • Previous medical laboratory and/or counseling experience desirable, as well as familiarity with computer databases.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of patient care and of duties and responsibilities of HCA I position.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, pay close attention to detail, and communicate effectively with patients, staff, and volunteers.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • $20.75 per hour, with a potential increase to $21.25 per hour after a probationary period.
