Human Resources Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and versatile HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, including performance management, workers compensation, leaves of absence, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and claims.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment and communicate benefits changes.
- Liaise with benefit providers to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records in accordance with legal requirements.
- Coordinate compliance training and employee development programs.
Performance Management and Development:
- Support performance review processes and provide coaching to managers and employees.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual development plans (IDPs).
- Partner with leadership on employee engagement and retention strategies.
- Help in employee relations as needed.
HR Administration:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Prepare reports and analyze HR metrics to support business decisions.
- Assist with the administration of company policies and procedures.
- Prepare change of status form, job descriptions, promotions planning, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of HR experience in a generalist role preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO).
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Speak Spanish.
