Job Overview

Cathcart Rail, a leading freight rail services and transportation company, is seeking a skilled Railcar Blaster Technician to join our team. Based in Grand Island, NE, this position offers a unique opportunity to work with a variety of abrasive blasting techniques on the exterior and interior of railcars.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual who can interpret job work orders, interact with crew members, and follow all safety rules and regulations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to read and write English proficiently, and possess knowledge of equipment and tools required for safe entry for blasting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret job work orders and perform required work
• Notify Supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required
• Follow all safety rules, keep the work area clean, and comply with OSHA and Cathcart Rail Environmental, Health and Safety Policies
• Ensure FRA, AAR, Cathcart Rail, and customer quality assurance standards are met
• Perform other duties as assigned, such as special projects

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate English at a proficient level
• Knowledge of equipment and tools required for safe entry for blasting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Physical ability to work in a confined space and lift heavy equipment
