Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment Specialist

US Foods, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment Specialist to join their team. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing diesel equipment to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
Salary:The estimated annual salary for this position is $57,600 - $66,720, depending on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance within company standards to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Document all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability in a timely and accurate manner.
- Respond to road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
- Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
- Assist other maintenance shop personnel as needed.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both.
- Experience with diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques relating to equipment repairs.
- Demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in administering a preventative maintenance program.
- Able to read and communicate in the English language, such as to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, read and understand technical and service manuals.
- Able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Expected schedule: Sunday - Thursday nights, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM.
Main Ingredients of the Job:- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
- Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list, and parts accountability.
- Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
- Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
- Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
- Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
