Job Summary

This role involves conducting inspections of new buildings, additions to existing buildings, and alterations to enforce compliance with current editions of the International Building Code. The successful candidate will articulate complex building issues to the public, contractors, designers, and owners, while identifying and solving problems through effective communication and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough inspections of new buildings, additions, and alterations to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  2. Articulate complex building issues to the public, contractors, designers, and owners through clear and concise communication.
  3. Identify and solve complex problems through effective negotiation and conflict resolution.
  4. Field questions regarding building requirements and provide expert advice.
  5. Analyze and interpret building plans, specifications, and codes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a strong understanding of Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and ordinances relating to building construction. Additionally, you should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Based on your experience and location, we anticipate paying between $36 and $54 per hour for this position.
