Job Summary: As a Child and Family Educator, you will conduct weekly home visits to pregnant women, children, and their families, providing essential health, nutrition, and child development education to prepare children for school. This role is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team that includes a social worker, family involvement specialist, registered nurse, and health and nutrition coordinator.

About the Role: Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing an individualized curriculum to prepare enrolled children from birth to three for school and prenatal women for delivery.
  • Documenting and tracking all communication with parents regarding home visits and services provided.
  • Completing and submitting required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participating in all relevant training and meetings.
  • Encouraging parents to attend parent meetings and assisting with transportation when necessary.
  • Integrating health services during home visits and collaborating with health services staff in tracking the health status of children.
  • Maintaining and periodically updating family information throughout the program year.
  • Providing guidance and assistance in the planning and participation in twice-monthly parent/child group socializations.
  • Providing initial and ongoing assessment of children using appropriate assessment tools.
  • Planning one nutrition activity per month during a home visit/group socialization in collaboration with the health and nutrition coordinator.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of workplace information according to the policies and procedures of HFP and Early Head Start.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant and Toddler Caregivers or an equivalent credential addressing compatible competencies.
  • An Associate Degree or higher in child development, early childhood education, or social services-related field.

Estimated Salary: The estimated annual salary for this role is $47,448, based on a salary range of $22.36 per hour and a 40-hour workweek. This estimate may vary based on individual qualifications and experience.
