Job Summary: We're seeking a highly skilled Product Design/Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of next-generation haptic actuators and experiences.

Estimated Salary Range: $175,800 - $312,200 per year, depending on qualifications and location.

About the Role:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assembly schemes for haptic actuators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine and achieve functional and aesthetic goals.
  • Analyze static and dynamic structures to quantify fundamental device performance.
  • Participate in the development of new manufacturing and assembly processes with external vendors.
  • Validate and characterize designs through multiple iterations.
  • Conduct failure analysis and design of experiments (DOEs) to resolve root cause and implement corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus 10 years' experience in product design and development.
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanics, electrical circuits, material science, and basic chemistry.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD, 2D drafting, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
  • Skilled at problem-solving, using tools like the scientific method, root cause analysis, and DOE creation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
