Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Technology Research Associate to join our team at the National Defense Industrial Association. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and analysis on emerging technologies, supporting the mission of advancing capabilities in critical modernization areas.

Estimated Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 per year

Location: Arlington, VA (2 days per week in office, telework available)

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research on technical topics relevant to the ETI mission, building research teams, attending national events, developing programming, managing projects, and engaging with stakeholders. A strong background in a technical or related discipline, PhD preferred, or equivalent combination of experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and their applications in defense and industry
  • Build and lead research teams to advance knowledge and innovation
  • Develop and implement programming for ETI and NDIA technical divisions
  • Manage research projects, including schedule, budget, and personnel
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to represent and develop research results
  • Serve as subject matter expert in one or more emerging technology or technology policy areas

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a technical or related discipline, PhD preferred
  • Equivalent combination of experience in government, military, legislative, academia, and/or nonprofit organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage research projects and personnel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong public speaking ability
  • Unclassified security clearance preferred but not required
