The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Academic Digital Media Specialist to join their team. This part-time, non-renewable position in Digital Media Design for Fall 2024 & Spring 2025 offers an exciting opportunity to teach additional courses on an as-needed basis.

Job Overview

The University of Virginia Department of Drama seeks applications from qualified candidates who can contribute to the department's wide-ranging curricula in a liberal arts setting. The successful candidate will have expertise in projection and media design for live performance, including theater, dance, and music performance.

The course load will be one course per semester for the academic year, with compensation of $6,000 per course. This is a unique chance to share knowledge and skills with students while advancing your own professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach digital media design courses to university students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum requirements
  • Collaborate with faculty members to integrate digital media into existing programs
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a Master's degree and terminal degree in theater or a related field of study, or equivalent professional experience. Prior university-level teaching experience is also preferred.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated commitment to advancing inclusive excellence through teaching and a proven track record of developing innovative digital media projects.

Benefits
