Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quality Control Inspector to join our team at Madison Approach. This is a long-term temporary position with a competitive hourly rate of $22-32/hour DOE.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Quality Control (QC) inspections on parts and sub-assemblies of rail cars. This will involve:

  • Conducting visual inspections to ensure conformance to quality standards and identifying non-conformance where it occurs.
  • Using measuring equipment such as scales, tape, calipers, micrometer, and combination-square to inspect parts and equipment.
  • Recording data and findings from inspections in inspection reports and related documentation with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrating an excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a QC Inspection field and be proficient in the English measurement system. They will also be able to work independently and conduct the final inspection of an entire rail car.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing QC inspections on parts and sub-assemblies of rail cars.
  • Using measuring equipment to inspect parts and equipment.
  • Recording data and findings from inspections.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a QC Inspection field.
  • Proficiency in the English measurement system.
  • Ability to work independently and conduct the final inspection of an entire rail car.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
