Job Description:

As a Chief Executive Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the State of California's efforts to serve and safeguard its people. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

About the Role:
  • Provide direction, supervision, and oversight to the Southern Region staff, comprising nine subordinate operational Units and five Contract Counties.
  • Jointly lead the team with the existing Assistant Southern Region Chief to ensure effective management and coordination of regional activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local and statewide partners, including county, state, and federal agencies.
Responsibilities:
  1. Direct and supervise the work of multidisciplinary professional and administrative staff to achieve organizational goals.
  2. Analyze complex problems and recommend effective solutions to senior leaders.
  3. Develop cooperative working relationships with representatives from various levels of government, the public, and other organizations.
Requirements:
  • Possess knowledge of the organization and functions of California State Government, including the Legislature and Executive Branch.
  • Have experience in program development, evaluation, and administration, as well as policy formulation and development.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, build teams, and foster a collaborative environment.
