Family Medicine Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corp. in LeChee, Arizona. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will provide comprehensive and continuing health and medical care services in a full scope Family Medicine practice with optional Obstetrics. You will be responsible for diagnosing, preventing, and treating patients, as well as providing education and counseling to patients and their families.
Responsibilities- Interview and examine patients, review medical history, medications, and diet, and perform diagnostic tests and examinations as necessary.
- Make preliminary diagnoses, direct, prescribe, or provide treatment, or arrange for specialized care or patient referral as required.
- Provide emergency care as required to stabilize patients, perform or assist with office-based procedures, and provide definitive management in all medical categories for cases that do not require referral.
- Give total patient care, including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services to patients under your care.
- Conduct outpatient clinics, review patients' medications, diet, therapy course, adherence to management plan, and patient observations, and modify regimen as indicated.
- Refers patients to appropriate contracted medical or other healthcare facilities, provides full clinical information for care and diagnostic procedures that cannot be adequately provided here, and assures the provision of timely follow-up care.
- Assures preparation of appropriate medical records for all patients seen, dictates clinical reports and correspondence concerning patients under your care, and works closely with allied health professionals to utilize and coordinate the services of other healthcare professionals in the management of patients' medical, psychological, and social problems.
- Trains, teaches, and supervises Medical Students and Residents, and is an active and participating member of the TCRHCC and serves on appropriate committees as assigned.
- Must have a Medical Degree, MD or DO.
- Must possess and maintain a current and unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any State, Territory, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
- Completion of three (3) years of accredited residency training in Family Practice or American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine.
- Must become a credentialed member of the TCRHCC Medical Staff.

Work is performed in a clinic setting where exposure to infectious disease is common. May have frequent exposure to chemical agents, occasional exposure to dust, fumes, gases, extremes in temperature or humidity, and loud noises.
Must be able to walk several hundred yards quickly, write well, hear well, and see well for complete diagnostic skills. Work requires prolonged ability to stand with occasional intermittent sitting, walking, driving, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, maintain balance, and reaching. Position requires the prolonged ability to hear normal speech and hear overhead pages over a loudspeaker. Other sensory requirements with occasional intermittent need is far vision, color vision, depth perception, seeing in fine details, and telephone use. The incumbent will frequently need to be able to utilize near vision. The prolong use repetitive movement of both hands in use of keyboards is required. Must also be able to intermittently use both hands with fine manipulation, and simple/firm grasping. Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry over 100 pounds. Must have the ability to hear alarms on equipment, client call, overhead pages, and instructions from other physicians/department staff. Incumbent must frequently be able to accept flexible schedule to meet unit needs.
Interaction with emotionally disturbed patients is common. Must be able to handle the stresses of rural medicine. Must be able to prioritize and use good judgment. Must be able to coordinate a variety of issues while being frequently interrupted. Incumbent will need to be able to frequently concentrate, handle a high degree of flexibility, and demonstrate a high degree of patience. Incumbent must also be able to occasionally cope with high levels of stress, make decisions under high pressure, cope with anger/fear/hostility of others in a calm way, manage altercations, handle multiple priorities in stressful situations, adapt to shift work, and work in areas that are close and crowded.
