The App Store is a vibrant and safe marketplace, home to over 1.8 million apps, serving more than half a billion customers every week across all Apple devices.

As a Principal Software Architect in the App Store Analytics & Data Engineering group, you will contribute to features like App Analytics and work with an extraordinary team to drive scalable, performant, and high-quality analytics services.

We're looking for an experienced leader who excels in large-scale program execution, partnering with data engineering, data science, product, and iOS engineering teams.

This role requires driving massive programs from inception to delivery, establishing SDLC processes, compute efficiency initiatives, or data quality programs.

You will lead software engineering teams to scale efficiently, ensuring services meet SLAs for millions of users while pushing the boundaries of new technology.

To succeed in this position, you must be passionate about guiding teams to prioritize what truly matters and have a track record of successfully driving massive programs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable frameworks, providing technical leadership across multiple teams.
  • Build and define a roadmap that aligns with efficient resource utilization, SDLC standard methodologies, and technology modernization goals.
  • Advocate for industry-standard processes and promote internal technological advancements within engineering teams.
  • Foster multi-functional communication with internal partners, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and priorities are managed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Over 8 years of experience in architecture or engineering management.
  • Experience managing data collection pipelines, tools, and platforms for internal engineering teams.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and present data to support assumptions and drive decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong creative and critical thinking skills, able to triage, prioritize, and lead effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Compensation:

The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
