Job Summary

A construction assistant project manager supports the project manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects by managing schedules, budgets, and communication among stakeholders. They also help with documentation, procurement, and problem-solving to ensure that projects progress smoothly and meet their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with the client and project team to ensure effective project execution.
  • Lead the Design Team consisting of the Architect, Engineers, Equipment Planner, and other consultants to achieve project objectives.
  • Provide day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team to ensure project progress.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting notes to the project team to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Lead the Construction Team on behalf of the owner to ensure project completion.
  • Develop, track, update, forecast, and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.
  • Review and track all contracts, invoices, and payments to all contractors, consultants, and equipment vendors to ensure project financial stability.
  • Prepare Monthly Reports to the Owner to provide project updates and insights.
  • Assist in plan reviews and inspections with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction to ensure project compliance.
  • Understand and assist in the negotiation of contracts of all parties to the project to ensure project success.
  • Assist and help manage/coordinate move and occupancy activities to ensure project completion.
  • Review and approve all invoices and change orders associated with the project to ensure project financial stability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial construction experience.
  • Experience working with commercial construction projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
