Innovative Blood Resources is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people in need of life-saving blood with generous volunteers who give. As a Collections Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our blood donation program.
Responsibilities:- Assess and document donor vitals, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
- Qualify donors based on questionnaire responses, determining eligibility for blood donation.
- Perform blood collections in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, prioritizing donor safety and well-being.
- Provide exceptional customer service and pre/post donation care, ensuring a positive experience for donors.
- Assist with the setup and takedown of blood drives, including the safe loading and unloading of mobile units.
- Perform cleaning tasks, including equipment cleaning, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Ensure accuracy, acceptability, and completeness of documentation to prevent loss of units.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings, staying up-to-date on industry best practices and company policies.
As a Collections Technician with Innovative Blood Resources, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, sick time, and a retirement plan.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license required, with reliable transportation to and from work assignments.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 40 pounds.
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
- Preferred: Specialized training beyond high school, such as phlebotomy, nursing assistant, medical assistant, EMT, or one year of college coursework.
