Job Title: Collections Technician

Overview:

Innovative Blood Resources is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people in need of life-saving blood with generous volunteers who give. As a Collections Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our blood donation program.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess and document donor vitals, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
  2. Qualify donors based on questionnaire responses, determining eligibility for blood donation.
  3. Perform blood collections in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, prioritizing donor safety and well-being.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service and pre/post donation care, ensuring a positive experience for donors.
  5. Assist with the setup and takedown of blood drives, including the safe loading and unloading of mobile units.
  6. Perform cleaning tasks, including equipment cleaning, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  7. Ensure accuracy, acceptability, and completeness of documentation to prevent loss of units.
  8. Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings, staying up-to-date on industry best practices and company policies.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required, with reliable transportation to and from work assignments.

  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
  • Preferred: Specialized training beyond high school, such as phlebotomy, nursing assistant, medical assistant, EMT, or one year of college coursework.
