Job Title: Sous Chef

About Us:
Pink Taco is a fast-paced, full-service restaurant that prides itself on creating an outstanding guest experience through creative culinary dishes.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to assist in the oversight of our back of house operation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of kitchen experience and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in controlling food related costs and labor costs.
  • Perform daily line check and safety walk-throughs.
  • Investigate and review sub-standard food with the BOH team.
  • Monitor food waste and suggest ways to minimize it.
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development and engineering.
  • Keep the kitchen running smoothly and adequately stocked with necessary goods.
  • Create an environment of trust and mutual respect.
  • Assist with hiring, training, coaching/counseling, skill development, and terminations.
  • Monitor and maintain highest standards of food quality and guest service.
  • Manage staffing levels and controllable costs to ensure they are in line with budget.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • 21+ years of age.
  • Minimum of 3 years of kitchen experience.
  • Possession of or ability to possess all state required work cards.
  • Knowledge of Windows MS Office, Open Table, Outlook, and back office reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of profitability analysis and budgeting, cost of sales, payroll management, purchasing, receiving, inventories, and cost controls.
