About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our AWS Fintech Data Platform team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, high-performance software components that drive Amazon's growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver software components that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with our customers and stakeholders to understand their requirements and propose solutions with proof of concept.
  • Translate proposals into technical design, coordinate development effort with other SDEs, test and deliver features in production.
  • Perform code reviews for peer engineers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure that solutions proposed are logical, testable, maintainable, and efficient.
  • Drive engineering best practices for continuous process improvements in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
About the Team

AWS Fintech Data Platform Team powers 30+ AWS Fintech data-heavy applications across reporting of financial actuals, continuous planning, headcount management, and elimination of manual processes in Finance, Accounting. As an organization that powers finance insights for the fastest-growing business in Amazon, we believe it is always Day 1 at AWS Fintech Data Platform team and are constantly adding and building new capabilities that power AWS Fintech applications.

What You'll Learn

You will learn all about how to design, implement, and test highly scalable solutions using the AWS cloud platform and its many products, working with best-in-class professionals.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR, or Storm/Samza experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing
