We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Hopkinsville, KY. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the public, and enforcing laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol designated areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
- Respond to emergency calls, provide assistance, and take necessary actions to ensure public safety.
- Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and prepare reports for court proceedings.
- Operate a variety of vehicles, including police cruisers and bicycles, and use specialized equipment, such as radar devices and emergency communication systems.
- Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to maintain public trust and confidence.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and technologies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Successful completion of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Academy or an equivalent approved state law enforcement academy.
- Valid motor vehicle operator license required.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
