Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Technician to join our interdisciplinary team at the University of Florida Health. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about providing patient-centered care and contributing to a dynamic healthcare environment.

About the Role

This position involves providing direct care services to patients with psychiatric and substance abuse disorders, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living tasks, and engaging in therapeutic activities. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor the unit for safety and security, identifying potential risks and taking proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Assist patients with organizing their bed/room and belongings, promoting a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Work under the direction of the nurse, receiving guidance and feedback as needed to ensure high-quality care.

The successful candidate must possess a High School diploma, current CNA certification, or equivalent. Previous experience as a CNA, PCA, or MHT is preferred. Additionally, Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.

In exchange for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary range of $43,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
