Patient Access Representative I

Job Summary
The Patient Access Representative I is responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and financial data collection processes at Mercy Medical Center. This role plays a critical part in maximizing hospital reimbursement by coordinating admissions, procedures, and testing in the most appropriate healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information
- Coordinate with ancillary departments and other patient care units to ensure efficient patient flow
- Maintain thorough knowledge of insurance requirements to ensure precertification, referral, and authorization are obtained from contracted payers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience in patient access or related field preferred
