Job Summary:

The Surgical Services Advanced Practice Provider is a critical member of our health care team, responsible for providing comprehensive health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with acute and sub-acute illnesses. This multifaceted role includes direct patient care, education, consultation, and treatment planning.

Responsibilities:

⁠ ⁠Provide comprehensive health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with acute and sub-acute illnesses

⁠ ⁠Collaborate with the health care team to develop and implement treatment plans

⁠ ⁠Provide education and consultation to patients, families, and health care providers

⁠ ⁠Participate in educational conferences and upgrades and maintains professional knowledge and skills related to the area of responsibility

Requirements:

⁠ ⁠Graduate of an approved and accredited Physician Assistant training program

⁠ ⁠Licensed Physician Assistant in New York; current NYS license

⁠ ⁠Valid certification by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants); maintains certification

⁠ ⁠OR

⁠ ⁠Licensed RN in New York, Current NYS license

⁠ ⁠Graduate of an approved program from an accredited college or university with a Masters Degree as a Nurse Practitioner

⁠ ⁠Board certified by either AACN or AANP

⁠ ⁠Successful completion of approved RNFA program

⁠ ⁠Meets credentialing requirements as appropriate through the Medical Staff office

⁠ ⁠CPR / BLS/ ACLS certified

⁠ ⁠Infection Control Training certificate as required by New York State

Working Conditions:

⁠ ⁠Subject to inside environmental conditions

⁠ ⁠Must be able to work in hectic environment making sound decisions at all times

⁠ ⁠Respond to surgical on-call emergencies
