Data Center Operations Overview

Gambit Technologies operates a network of data centers across multiple locations, providing a range of IT services to our clients. As a Junior Linux Admin/Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of our Linux-based systems, ensuring high availability and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain Linux-based systems in a high-availability data center environment.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Ensure data security, system backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Assist with configuration and performance tuning of servers.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on complex troubleshooting and system optimization.
Requirements:
  • Basic to intermediate Linux administration skills (RHEL, CentOS, or similar).
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in multiple data centers within a 30-mile radius.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year.

Bonus potential: up to 15% of base salary.

Overtime pay: 1.5 times regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a week.
