Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Kwest Group. As a key member of our Preconstruction department, you will play a vital role in analyzing bid opportunities, preparing estimates, and performing initial bid reviews.

About the Role

The Senior Estimator will support the Senior Project Manager's business sectors by implementing the Estimating Groups' guidance to analyze bid opportunities for the business sector, prepare estimates as needed, and perform initial bid reviews prior to bid close-out and submission. You will also assist in managing and updating HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob software and its codebooks.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze incoming bid opportunities to determine effort and worthiness of bid preparation
  • Support the Senior Project Manager by performing initial bid reviews with the Project Management team to prepare for bid close-out
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and project meetings to represent Kwest Group as directed by the Senior Project Manager
  • Prepare Bids as needed, including reviewing and understanding all plans, specifications, addenda, and other bid documents required to complete an accurate bid and proposal
  • Evaluate constructability issues during the proposal preparation process
  • Procure subcontract and material quotes as well as perform a review of each for conformance with project specifications
  • Prepare a summary of additional project requirements including the project schedule and milestones and review with the Senior Project Manager and Director of Preconstruction prior to bid
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 – 5 years of heavy civil/site work construction estimating experience
  • Prior knowledge of Federal and Public Sector work is preferred
  • Experience with HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob, Plan Swift, Bluebeam, AgTek, Microsoft Suite, including Project, is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or equivalent field experience in Civil Construction
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
