Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Museum Programming Specialist to join our team at the Milwaukee Public Museum. This is a full-time position that requires bilingual skills in English and Spanish, including the ability to read in both languages.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering museum programs and engagements, creating and sustaining program partnerships, and working with multigenerational audiences across diverse suites of museum educational programs.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Research, develop, support, and deliver museum programs and engagements in person on the exhibit floors, in the community, or remotely via pre-recorded video, video-conferencing, or other technology responsive to the interests of the public and aligned with the institution's mission and strategic goals
  • Create, sustain, and/or expand program partnerships that strengthen the museum's position in the community
  • Work with multigenerational audiences across diverse suites of museum educational programs, including providing specialized support for Accessibility Programs

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, including the ability to read in both languages
  • Possess an Associates Degree or higher in education or other museum-related disciplines
  • Have 1-3 years experience as an educator in a classroom or non-classroom setting
  • Are willing to commit to the mission and values of a non-profit organization
  • Possess a genuine interest in working towards a common goal to advance sustainability, inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in all of our work
