Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterans Support Specialist to join our team at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic in Fairbanks, Alaska.

About the Role

This is a full-time, exempt position that requires excellent case management skills, a deep understanding of local social services, and the ability to work effectively with veterans and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive case management services to veterans and their families, including referrals to housing, employment, healthcare, and other essential community resources.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to identify and address the needs of clinic clients, ensuring seamless care coordination and support.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local service providers and organizations to ensure access to quality care and resources for veterans and their families.
  • Assist veterans and their families in navigating complex systems of care, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain confidential case records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in case management, with a focus on working with veterans and their families.
  • Knowledge of local social services, public health, and VSO organizations and resources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
