About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Development Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating leads and closing deals with existing and potential customers. Your primary objective will be to create sales, defend sales, and penetrate sales in assigned territories.

Responsibilities

  • Sell company products and services by generating leads and calling on assigned customer accounts.
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with customers' purchasing and management staff.
  • Pursue new business leads through various resources, including reps, trade shows, networking, manufacturers, and internal TTI resources.
  • Facilitate follow-through on every level of the sales cycle, ensuring timely completion and meeting customer expectations.
  • Attend quarterly business reviews with suppliers and regular meetings with internal management to understand business outlooks and opportunities.
  • Ensure price quotes meet customer deadlines by working with TTI personnel to gather accurate product and delivery information.
  • Increase customer account coverage by collaborating with Account Representatives to provide exceptional customer service and support.
  • Work with customers' buyers, purchasing, and engineering staff on projects and designs, offering value-added services to drive future business.
  • Strategize with management on large customer quotes to negotiate prices and delivery terms, providing the best deal for the customer while maximizing profit for TTI.
  • Negotiate special pricing from suppliers by exposing business opportunities during the quote process.
  • Answer and resolve customer questions, problems, and complaints in a timely manner, providing the highest level of service available.
  • Entertain customers in the normal course of business to aid in negotiations and show appreciation for their business.
  • Maintain market awareness on competitor activities, industry trends, and new concepts by reading industry periodicals, networking, attending training events, and trade shows.
  • Report daily itineraries to branch management, detailing appointments, topics, locations, and times.
  • Participate in the TTI Total Quality Program, supporting quality processes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring error-free transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of Engineering and/or Component Sales experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of sales, purchasing, product, vendors, warehousing, branch operations, and systems.
  • Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Be organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Present complex topics effectively to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors.
  • Show ability to work with minimum supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Possess valid driver's license, safe driving record, and insurability by the company's liability carrier.
  • Requires some travel, amount varies depending on territory.
