Job Summary:

The Music Production Technology Program at Roeslein & Associates seeks a full-time tenure-track Sound Reinforcement and Lighting Faculty. The ideal candidate will possess a strong professional background in live event production and a Master's degree in a relevant field. This position requires a deep understanding of sound reinforcement and lighting systems, as well as experience with industry-standard equipment such as Hog 4 lighting consoles and DiGiCo digital audio consoles.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching: The faculty member will teach a variety of classes related to sound reinforcement and lighting for stage and concert. This will include lectures, lab sessions, and hands-on training with students. The faculty member will also be responsible for developing and implementing course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.

Professional Development: The faculty member will participate in activities that advance their professional competencies and teaching skills. This may include attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions, as well as engaging in research and publication activities.

College Responsibilities and Service: The faculty member will serve on department, school, and college-wide committees, participate in the promotion and continuing contract process, and attend department, division, and college-wide academic functions. They will also be responsible for keeping scheduled office hours, recording student attendance, and participating in college-wide events and activities.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as music production, sound engineering, or a related field. A strong professional background in live event production, including experience with sound reinforcement and lighting systems. Industry-standard equipment such as Hog 4 lighting consoles and DiGiCo digital audio consoles. Experience with stage rigging, professionalism, and strong communication skills. Certification or experience with Pro Tools, knowledge of stage power distribution and safety, and knowledge of Hippotizer media server, Vectorworks software, and LightWrite software. Proficiency in computer networking and experience working collaboratively with others in an academic and/or professional environment.

About the Music Production Technology Program:

The Music Production Technology Program at Roeslein & Associates offers a two-year Associate of Science degree and several specialized audio certificates. The program focuses on the areas of recording technology and techniques, audio mixing, studio maintenance, acoustics, sound reinforcement, stage lighting, and audio for media. Students develop a functional understanding of musical language, musical elements, and performance skills. Business and legal areas related to the musical/entertainment industry complete the course of study.
