Job Summary

As a Home Health Aide with Eagle Ridge Home Care, you will play a vital role in enabling patients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording their condition, providing support and personal services, and teaching families.

Responsibilities:

Monitor patient condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.

Support patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands.

Assist patients by providing personal services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.

Help patients care for themselves by teaching use of cane or walker, special utensils to eat, special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene.

Help family members care for the patient by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and re-position the patient.

Advise on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping.

Record patient information by making entries in the patient journal and notifying nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.

Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by following asepsis standards and procedures, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards.

Protect the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

Requirements:

Good physical and mental health.

Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, turn, stooping, bending stretching and lifting to assist residents as needed.

Ability to follow instructions, knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care.

Ability to adjust to many types of personalities and situations.

Basic understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques.

Patience, tact and desire to serve those who are ill and incapacitated.

Good knowledge and writing ability of English language.

Certifications:

None required, opportunity for CPR certifications, Training for Medication Administration through the Dept of Human services.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

None required, In-House training provided.

Shifts available:

Evening, nights, every other weekend, some holidays. Flexible scheduling.

Wages:

Starting wage $14.00/hr.
