Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Lead Cloud Engineer to join our Data Platforms team. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data storage and processing solutions to ensure efficient data flow and accessibility. The successful candidate will collaborate with data engineers and analysts to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop database product applications on Snowflake and Databricks, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at scaling our processes, systems, services, and automation.
  • Build data engineering and data ingestion modules for Snowflake relational databases.
  • Implement automation for administering accounts, databases, and access roles.
  • Develop and implement Snowflake standards and methodologies for database security.
  • Implement data sharing and replication for cross-cloud and cross-region data access.
  • Implement data encryption, decryption, and masking policies to protect sensitive data.
  • Propose and implement database query performance optimizations to manage costs.
  • Build foundational database infrastructure automation to manage traffic and scale.
  • Create data structures and design data models tailored to Snowflake's architecture.
  • Demonstrate expertise in cloud managed services, particularly Azure CLI.
  • Develop monitoring architecture and implement monitoring agents, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Collaborate with Cloud leadership, Product Management, and Application Teams on requirements.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) automation using Terraform to create IaC patterns and modules.
  • Utilize modern software DevOps and CI/CD tooling to provision infrastructure resources and prevent configuration drift.
  • Investigate and resolve complex cloud infrastructure-related issues and recommend solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical fields.
  • 10+ years of technology experience.
  • 5+ years of cloud computing experience, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • 3-5+ years of experience with Snowflake.
  • Strong developing skills in Python and associated libraries.
  • Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Snowflake data platforms.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, Flask, and Django.
  • Experience with Databricks data platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Terraform (IaC), SQL, and Java.
  • Strong hands-on experience with databases, with a focus on SQL.
  • Experience with data analytics, PySpark, and Big Data.
  • Strong debugging skills to identify issues and provide solutions.
  • Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
  • Experience creating data architectures and dealing with large volumes of data.
  • Experience using statistical languages to manipulate data and draw insights from data sets.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, such as GitHub/Actions.
