Job Summary:
Cherokee Nation Home Health Services Inc is seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Aide to provide essential daily living support to our members in their homes. As a Personal Care Aide, you will assist with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and running errands, ensuring our members receive the care and support they need to maintain their independence.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care, including dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and hygiene.
- Prepare meals, clean the kitchen, and wash dishes.
- Perform light housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Run errands, such as picking up groceries, supplies, and medication, and paying utility bills.
- Wash and dry laundry in the member's home or laundromat.
- Perform in-home respite and/or Advanced Supportive/Restorative care as assigned.
- Immediately inform the Staffing Coordinator of missed visits or changes in the assigned schedule.
- Report changes in the member's condition or status updates to the Staffing Coordinator.
- Complete a minimum of 12 hours of education annually by attending all mandatory in-service meetings or other educational assignments.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and dependable transportation.
- Must have a smartphone or tablet to install the State required app for clocking in/out.
- Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the disabled and elderly.
- Ability to carry out directions, read, and write.
- Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
Working Environment:
Works indoors in members' homes and driving in various climates.
Risk Exposure:
High risk. Exposure to household chemicals.
Lifting Requirements:
Ability to perform the following tasks if necessary:
Ability to work for extended periods of time while standing and being involved in physical activity.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Ability to do extensive bending, lifting, and standing on a regular basis.
