Electronics Quality Inspector Job Description

Mercury Systems is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Quality Inspector to join our world-class Quality team. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our electronic assemblies meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process visual verification of electronic assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC Industry Standards.
  • Provide real-time feedback to operators and document discrepancies accordingly.
  • Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection, including customer source inspections.
  • Obtain and uphold IPC credentials required for the position.
  • Ensure quality at a production line level by incorporating spot-inspection, sampling, and 1st-piece verification and 100% inspection as required.
  • Verify compliance of in-process material against Customer and Industry Standards.
  • Ensure documentation is accurately recorded and collected.
  • Escalate systemic issues to Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Support first-piece verification runs with accompanying documents.
  • Document non-conformities to the process and specifications.
  • Initiate regular quality line-audits to ensure all documentation, consumables, and tooling are within check.
  • Advocate proper ESD, PPE, and FOD prevention.
  • Operate appropriate inspection equipment; (AOI, XRAY, etc....)

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance of electronics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Physically able to spend up to 8 hours a day using a microscope.
  • Familiarity with IPC Industry Standards.
  • High-School Diploma.
  • Must be a US citizen with an active DOD secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift hours - 2:00pm to 10:30pm.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • J-STD-001 Class 3 and/or IPC 610 certified.
  • Familiarity with MIl-STD-833.
  • Experience working in an ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 Quality System environment.
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively to provide real-time feedback.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Customer-Focused, Zero-Defect Mindset.
  • Documentation Abilities.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Industry-Relevant Quality Inspection or Control experience.
  • Willingness to cross train in multiple Quality areas.
