Job Title: Caretaker

Join the Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, as a Caretaker at Beaumont Scout Reservation. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the delivery of impactful camping and outdoor experiences to Scouts and outside groups.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors, representing the council and enforcing established policies and procedures.
  • Utilize the online reservation system to monitor property use and verify activities are conducted under trained leadership.
  • Prepare and promote volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups, and businesses.
  • Maintain harmonious relationships with local officials, adjoining landowners, and neighboring communities.
  • Keep physical property and equipment in operational condition, ensuring health, safety, sanitation, and good organization of the camp.
  • Develop and follow project schedules for regular inspections, routine maintenance, and ordering supplies.
  • Adhere to camp budgets for annual operations, events, and capital projects.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical college education preferred.
  • Experience in property management/administration preferred.
  • Ability to register as a member of the BSA.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to creatively problem solve and be flexible in daily management and operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Basic fiscal management and budget development skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers (Windows, Microsoft Office) and use of email and the internet.
