Seeking an experienced Nursing Assistant I to join our team on 5 East, a dynamic Medical/Oncology Unit at UNC Health Care. As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, support and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to a culture of compassion, excellence, and innovation.

About the Role:
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in a hospital setting, under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
  • Assists physicians with examinations and procedures, procures equipment and supplies during emergency situations, and participates in reality orientation and behavior modification plans/therapy.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Observes, collects, and documents patient information, promptly reporting significant changes in the patient's condition.
  • Provides assistance with admission, orientation, and discharge processes, as well as routine activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation.
About You:
  • High school diploma or GED required; six months of relevant nursing assistant experience preferred.
  • Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification required.
