Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Correctional Officer to join our team at the Berks County Jail. As a Correctional Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of inmates, visitors, and staff within the jail environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor inmate behavior, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Conduct searches of inmate cells and common areas for contraband.
  • Prepare reports on inmate misconduct and security issues.
  • Conduct accurate inmate counts at prescribed times.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
