Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and PET/CT Position
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging services in the specialty of Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and PET/CT. This advanced technician operates a variety of equipment to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes and therapeutic procedures involving radiopharmaceuticals.
Main Responsibilities
- Interviews patients, explains procedures, performs venipuncture and positions the patient for procedures.
- Reviews test results with radiologists/referring physicians.
- Monitors equipment performance and notifies service personnel if needed.
- Prepares radiopharmaceuticals and checks their purity.
- Performs clinical assessment and nuclear medicine exams as ordered by the physician.
- Coordinates with other staff to ensure appropriate patient care is provided.
- Follows the Quality Management Program for administration of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
Requirements
- Completion of an NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine program or meet eligibility requirements to become registered with NMTCB or ARRT.
- Registered with the NMTCB or ARRT in Nuclear Medicine (ARRT (N) within six months of employment.
- Fundamental understanding of general Nuclear Medicine and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Current Montana License as appropriate to provide PET/CT services.
- Current Health Care Provider CPR Certification.
