Job Summary

Cash Waggner & Associates seeks a highly skilled Water Resource Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and managing water resources projects, including waterways, pipelines, dams, dikes, culverts, canals, and other water-related resources and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct field crew activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Consult with project stakeholders and managerial staff to provide guidance on engineering requirements for construction projects.
  • Use design software and drawing tools to create accurate and detailed designs, plans, and specifications.
  • Assess the strength of building materials by testing and analyzing soil and material samples.
  • Set design specifications by computing load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and other relevant parameters.
  • Plan projects based on analysis of relevant materials, including drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
  • Draft and present reports on project-related topics, such as environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needs to determine project costs.
  • Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure projects progress smoothly.
  • Collaborate with surveyors to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain structures as needed upon project completion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensure or ability to become licensed within 1 year of hire.
  • Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
  • Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analysis software.
  • Proficient in HEC-RAS or other simulation software used in computational fluid dynamics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to travel to various project sites. Ability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.

Salary and hourly wages are based on experience.
