Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriting Standards Director to join our Business Insurance team. As a key member of our underwriting leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting standards and controls to ensure the quality and profitability of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain underwriting standards and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Collaborate with underwriting leaders and business partners to identify and address underwriting quality and execution issues.
  • Design and deliver underwriting standards, practices, and tools to support individual transactional underwriting environments.
  • Oversee core quality assurance controls to ensure minimum standards are adhered to and conducted in an objective, independent, consistent, and risk-based manner.
  • Assess the execution of underwriting controls and standards, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to the business.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of compliance, underwriting, claim, product, or relevant underwriting quality assurance experience.
  • Extensive experience in commercial property casualty product and/or underwriting.
  • Intermediate strategic thinking skills and demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Intermediate leadership, collaboration, influencing, and change management communication skills.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, technology, and auditing principles.
