Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Acupuncturist to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will work under the auspices of the Comprehensive Pain Service, providing evaluation and administration of acupuncture therapy for pediatric and select adult patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Pain Service to develop and implement treatment plans for patients undergoing acupuncture therapy.
  • Apply principles of growth and development to work effectively with patients of various ages.
  • Document treatment plans and patient responses in medical records.
  • Educate patients and families on the procedure, risks, and benefits of acupuncture.
  • Participate in care conferences with the Pain Team to evaluate alternative care when goals of acupuncture are deemed ineffective.
  • Provide education to other healthcare team members on the use of acupuncture.
  • Apply family-centered care principles in all interactions with patients and families.
  • Adhere to customer service principles as defined by Nationwide Children's Hospital.
  • Protect patient confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Certification by the National Board of Acupuncture or Oriental Medicine.
  • Licensure by the Ohio Medical Board.
  • Experience with pediatric acupuncture preferred.
  • Evidence of at least one year of practice or education in an integrated medicine environment.
  • Must have own malpractice insurance.
