Job SummaryThe GSE Mechanic is a critical member of our maintenance team, responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of ground service equipment used to support our aircraft and buildings.
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance inspections and servicing of company vehicles and equipment, including line trucks, vans, generators, and other miscellaneous equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and test equipment.
- Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines as needed.
- Operate a variety of equipment, including snow removal equipment, man lifts, and forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Alaska driver's license with a good driving record, Class B CDL, and Medical certificate preferred.
- Five years of hands-on experience required, with trade or technical school experience substituting for a portion of hands-on experience.
- Experience with Aero-Tec heaters, deicer trucks, cargo loaders, forklifts, auto body repair, and stick or MIG welding a plus.
- Previous experience with maintenance-related computer programs highly desirable.
- Must own all necessary tools for maintenance actions.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check, and security threat assessment.
- Travel on company business for up to two weeks at a time with minimal notification.
The GSE Mechanic will work primarily in the maintenance hangar or outdoors, with exposure to adverse weather conditions, wet surfaces, and high noise levels. Personal protective equipment may be required.
Physical Effort- Lift up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to feel objects and/or handle tools.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, and balancing.
