Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the hospital to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Respond to alarms and investigate incidents in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Conduct periodic inspections to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
  • Provide safekeeping for patient valuables when requested.
  • Develop and submit daily reports as required.
  • Control emergency situations, remove individuals from danger, protect evidence, and manage pedestrian/vehicular traffic safely.
  • Assist staff in violent patient restraint situations to maintain safety for patients and healthcare teams.
  • Participate in disaster control and fire drill activities in accordance with security guidelines.
  • Respond to security office and front desk inquiries efficiently.
  • Monitor hospital parking lots and issue parking tickets for vehicles parked in violation of hospital regulations.
  • Perform additional department, organization, or network activities as required.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Graduation from a Police Academy may waive experience requirements.
  • Minimum of one year paid, full-time experience in security/law enforcement or its equivalent.
Work Environment

This is a per diem position with a rotating schedule. The successful candidate will be required to work at our hospital location in Charlestown, MA.
