Description:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Nurse to join our team at IU Health Bedford Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About the Role:
This Medical Surgical Nurse position requires 13 weeks of commitment, working three 12-hour shifts per week. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 18 months of experience and be willing to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, assessing and prioritizing patient needs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Indiana or compact license
- Minimum 18 months of medical-surgical nursing experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
